| Description |
This course studies examples of how inequality must be understood in terms of its causes and consequences and how it can be managed by policy (if necessary). Therefore, the course consists of case studies analysing different inequalities with respect to their causes, consequences, and policy tools. Examples of case studies are inequalities in the labour market (e.g. gender, discrimination), education, or health, as well as income inequality between countries or regions and over time, and climate change resulting in intergenerational and interregional inequality.

| Prerequisites |
The course requires students to have a good understanding of economic models (utility and growth theory) and experimental as well as quantitative methods.
