The course “Professional Development: Leadership Skills” is a semester-long course that supports students in (further) developing their leadership skills. In particular, the course focusses on the development of leadership identity. Students explore what leadership is, who they are as a leader and in which situations they show leadership in their (daily) life. Based on an analysis of their individual strengths and weaknesses, students set goals and make plans on how to further develop their leadership. The course involves a series of individual assignments, a lecture, workshops and peer coaching activities designed to foster reflection on own leadership beliefs and behaviours, challenging students to take a deeper look at (their own) leadership.
