Description |
The course deals with business and economic aspects of innovation. The course consists of eight meetings of about four hours, four in Leuven and four in Maastricht. It is a combined course of the University of Leuven and UM. The professors who teach the meetings are experts in the field of innovation research. The meetings focus on empirical research articles and deal with issues ranging from alliances, growth and development, dynamics of technological change, product and process innovation, cooperation, productivity of R&D, patenting, to methods of innovation research. The course enhances insights in what the academic literature learns about how firm may promote innovation, what obstacles there are and what the consequences are of innovation. The course requires considerable preparation by reading and interpreting academic articles.
