In a world of increasing economic integration, caused by among other things - globalisation, technological developments and the liberalisation of capital and trade flows, the analysis of emerging countries constitutes an important topic in economics.
This skill training aims at linking a theoretical perspective to a 2 week trip in a particular emerging country. The trip is organised in collaboration with Scope Economics.
Description
Prior to the trip, teams of 3 to 4 students should define a paper proposal for an economic question associated to the visiting countries' economy. This results in a short background paper due before the trip.
During the trip, under the supervision of a staff member discussions with experts working in government institutions, investment banks, international organisation and large firms are organised in order to shed new light on the topics.
Within a week after the trip, students will deliver, visit summaries, a 4000-6000 words paper on the topic confronting theoretical and practical views, and an individual reflections.
