Goals
Students learn to apply mathematical tools to model economic problems, to develop the theoretical framework of microeconomics and to prove its results.
Description
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE INFORMATION ABOUT THE TEACHING AND ASSESSMENT METHOD(S) USED IN THIS COURSE IS WITH RESERVATION. THE INFORMATION PROVIDED HERE IS BASED ON THE COURSE SETUP PRIOR TO THE CORONAVIRUS CRISIS. AS A CONSEQUENCE OF THE CRISIS, COURSE COORDINATORS MAY BE FORCED TO CHANGE THE TEACHING AND ASSESSMENT METHODS USED. The course provides an exposition of key elements of modern microeconomic theory at an advanced level. Topics include information economics and mechanism design. Note that this is a research master course. We treat the material rigorously, and a substantial amount of time will be spent on mathematical proofs.
