A RE-EMERGENCE OF THE CORONAVIRUS AND NEW COUNTERMEASURES BY THE DUTCH GOVERNMENT MIGHT FORCE COORDINATORS TO CHANGE THE TEACHING AND ASSESSMENT METHODS USED. The impact of human activity threatens the destruction of the natural environment, yet the natural environment is essential to sustain human activity. Here, we will study both the most pressing environmental challenges together with their potential solutions. Emphasis is given to the underlying science and technology of these challenges and solutions. We will cover a diverse range of topics, ranging from climate change to diversity loss, and from geoengineering to carbon capture. This course uses a student-centric learning approach based on flipped classrooms and peer teaching. Students can expect that they will have to give a presentation at least once every two weeks. |
