| Description |
As environmental pressures, resource scarcity, and policy requirements intensify, businesses need to rethink how products and value chains are designed and managed. This course introduces students to Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and circularity assessment as methods for supporting sustainable business decisions.
Students learn how LCA evaluates environmental impacts across a product’s life cycle, from raw-material extraction and production to use and end-of-life. They also learn how circularity can be assessed at product and value-chain levels. Step by step, students explore the main elements of LCA, circularity assessment, and related methods such as carbon footprinting, applying them to practical cases. The course examines how these methods can inform circular business strategies, including reuse, repair, remanufacturing, and recycling. Students critically assess environmental trade-offs and explore how companies can use assessment results to support business decisions. Assessment * Student presentation on circularity strategies * Testvision digital exam |
