Goals
This course introduces students to the main categories of alternative investments, including real estate, infrastructure, private equity, private debt, hedge funds, derivatives, securitized products, cryptocurrencies, and collectibles. It aims to provide students with insight into their valuation, risk characteristics, and applications in investment and portfolio strategies.
Description
The course examines the structure and pricing of non-traditional asset classes, focusing on their risk-return profiles, liquidity, and role in institutional portfolios. Analytical tools are applied to assess diversification benefits, performance measurement, and current developments in alternative investment markets.

Prerequisites
  • Second-year finance course.
  • Students should be familiar with risk and return and asset pricing concepts.
