| Description |
This course aims at furthering students’ understanding of the role of cognitive psychological mechanisms in human decision making. The course will introduce key theories and concepts in cognitive psychology (e.g., heuristics, prospect theory, cognition-emotion interactions, self-control). These concepts will be discussed by relating them to classical and recent empirical research on decision making. Moreover, the theories will also be applied to contemporary decision making cases. Tutorial groups (seminars) are the primary teaching method and facilitating, presenting and participating in these tutorial groups will be assessed. Moreover, there will be a written exam as well as an assignment. In the assignment you will learn about the practical aspects of cognitive psychology experiments.
