Formulation and implementation of public policies are an important responsibility of modern governments. More precisely, the potential impact of policies on the target groups, as well as the externalities they may generate, must be known to inform policy design. Yet, policies are often not “one size fit all”, and policy failures have been observed when transposing policies from developed to developing and emerging markets. Modern economic tools can help analyze the causal impact of specific polices, as well as compare results across different historical and country contexts. |
