The R&D project will give students a real first-hand experience with research and to familarise them with the scientific process of research. Students will get a research question from one of the Brightlands campuses or the research departments of the University. In order to tackle this question they will need to apply and furthermore extend the knowledge they acquired in the mandatory and elective courses. Students will complete research and /or development towards the goal of a feasible solution to an engineering problem associated with one of the foci of the UM or the Brightlands campuses. Students will produce a project plan, generate and research their ideas and develop their proposed solution to the problem. In the last phase of the project students will have to critically analyze their generated data and/or results. Furthermore the findings will have to be included in a scientific report and the students will produce a poster and communicate their findings on a research day.
