Goals
Students demonstrate knowledge of how to build, use and interpret the results of OR tools to support decision-making in a complex and dynamic environment.
Description
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE INFORMATION ABOUT THE TEACHING AND ASSESSMENT METHOD(S) USED IN THIS COURSE IS WITH RESERVATION. A RE-EMERGENCE OF THE CORONAVIRUS AND NEW COUNTERMEASURES BY THE DUTCH GOVERNMENT MIGHT FORCE COORDINATORS TO CHANGE THE TEACHING AND ASSESSMENT METHODS USED. THE MOST UP-TO-DATE INFORMATION ABOUT THE TEACHING/ASSESSMENT METHOD(S) WILL BE AVAILABLE IN THE COURSE SYLLABUS.

During this course, students will learn on OR tools to support decision-making. They will need to build their own tool and apply it to a practical problem. Furthermore, they need to be able to interpret the outcomes to come to sound conclusions.

Textbook on simulation; scientific articles.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of Operations Research and combinatorial optimization; programming skills.
